 London to Paris

Jenny Jones

Jenny here.
I have been given the opportunity by Oakley to support the charity Lavender Trust. Initially I was all for this and asked how I could get involved in supporting the fight against breast cancer. However, I was not too ready for what was proposed!
Charity bike, that didn’t sound too bad. I can ride a [...]

Jones and the end of the season…

Jenny Jones

Things got cut a little short for me due to an injury. I had to cancel some photo shoots and film trips happening in April and May due to a bruised heel bone. Sounds like a lame injury I know, but it takes over six weeks to heal. Gutted. I nearly made it through the season with no major injuries, Ha. So returned to the UK and hooked up with Dawn of the Shred in Scotland and the Oakley Grom Games in Manchester. Jenny

 Third gold’s a charm

Jenny Jones

…and that was the 1st ever European X Games.
WOW. I had such a great week in Tignes. It was definitely a rollercoaster of a week but it all turned out good in the end.
At the start of the week it was lovely and sunny as we went up for our first snowboard practice on the [...]

 Little house on the prairie

Jenny Jones

I have spent the past week up in the mountains of Tahoe in a small cabin built by none other than the legend snowboarder himself Mike Basich. Mike joined myself, Dan Milner (photographer) and Megan Ginter (US pro rider) for the week and showed us the ropes.
I cut down my first tree (a dead one) [...]

When silver is just as good as gold

Jenny Jones

Last weekend I competed in the final stop of the Winter Dew Tour at Mount Snow in Wermont where, by the way, it is bloody freezing. The course wasn’t great and the park crew had to make changes to it after the practice session because lots of the riders had trouble clearing features.
However, I managed [...]

 X Games gold

Jenny Jones

As I headed over to Aspen at the beginning of the week I was feeling excited and nervous about competing in the X Games. How was I going to top last year’s experience (which was one of the best contest moments of my career)?  I decided to adopt the outlook of this being a whole [...]

 Silver at Winter Dew

Jenny Jones

I have just spent the last few days riding at Snowbasin in Utah, where we had great weather and no wind for the second stop of the Winter Dew Tour.
Friday was the competition prelims and I managed to make it through to the finals on Sunday. The course was pretty tight and you had very [...]

 Cat a tonic

Jenny Jones

So just before Christmas I competed in the first stop of the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge and came third which was a nice result. I then head home to Bristol for Christmas and I was surprised to see all the snow. I had a week and a half at home before heading straight back [...]

 Flips, spins and trampolines

Jenny Jones

I am now in Frisco, US staying with a few fellow slopestyle riders from Europe and the GB halfpipe team.
Last week we went riding at Keystone, Colorado as they have already built the park with some good medium jumps and tons of rails and boxes.
But this week the weather has been cold, windy and only [...]

Rippin, with the GB Freestlye team

Jenny Jones

I headed out to Mayrhofen in Austria this week to stay with the GB freestyle team. We’ve had two great days of riding although there’s has been a bit of waiting around because of the clouds coming in. But the snow is lovely and the park kickers are super smooth. The guys have all landed [...]
